What does an Engineering Services apprentice do?
As an apprentice within Engineering Services, you'll be learning a broad range of skills and carrying an exciting and varied job at the heart of our business. Your role will be multi-skilled and able to flex between all aspects of Engineering Services to deliver a world class service to our customer. Working in a forward stock location, you will be responsible for maintaining stock levels to service a range of internal and external customers who require critical items to do their day job. It's a busy environment so attention to detail and a high level of numeracy is needed. You'll be dealing with customers face to face on a daily basis; fulfilling their orders and processing returns. Delivering great customer service is our priority so you will love delighting our customers whilst working towards your qualification. In addition, you will be maintaining accurate stock records in our Managed Kit Rooms, ensuring critical spares are available to maintain BT's network.
In addition, you'll be learning skills around carrying out safety tests on a range of items. Buddying up with an experienced member of the team, you'll learn how to carry out safety checks, PAT testing electrical items and setting up equipment to keep our engineers safe. You'll also have the opportunity to work at different locations to support our network by carrying out safety checks on ladders and maintaining our Pelipods and Lockers to make sure we can get deliveries to strategic locations. Being able to manage and adapt your schedule to make sure we provide a first rate service will be important so a flexible approach will excel in this role.

Great! You'll need to go through a few pre-employment checks before you can start. The standard working week is 37.5 hours. Your attendance pattern can require you to attend on any day from Monday to Sunday and your start and finish times can be between 07:30 and 15:30 with flexibility.
